Doda AEE suspended for negligence during snowfall, road clearance disruption

Doda, Dec 29: The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of PMGSY Division Doda, has been suspended for neglecting his duties during the ongoing snowfall, which has disrupted critical rural road infrastructure.

“The suspension comes after a thorough inquiry revealed that the official had left the station without proper authorization and failed to return despite the worsening weather conditions,” reads an order issued, a copy of which was accessed by the news agency JKNS.

It reads as, the district administration had instructed all officials to remain stationed in Doda to monitor and clear roads on priority. However, the AEE’s casual attitude during this critical period was deemed a dereliction of duty, especially when the administrative machinery was already stretched in providing relief to the public.

It also reads as, pending an inquiry into his conduct by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Raj Kumar has been placed under suspension and will remain attached to the ADC’s office. He will be deployed in the 24X7 Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at the DC office, Doda, until further notice.

Additionally, Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer of PWD, Doda, and Umar Jan, Assistant Engineer of PWD Bhagwah, will temporarily oversee the work of the PMGSY Sub Divisions in Doda and Bhagwah, in addition to their own responsibilities.—(JKNS)
