10th to 12th annual regular exams likely from 3rd week of Feb

Srinagar, Dec 06 : The annual regular exams of 10th to 12th standard are likely to commence from 3rd week of February-2025.

A top official of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they were working to conduct the annual regular board exams of 10th to 12th standard from the third week of February.

“Although we have not decided any date yet regarding the conduct of annual regular exams of 10th, 11th and 12th standard. But the board is charting out a mechanism to commence the exams probably in between February-10 to February-15,” he said.

The official added that “This time we will try to conduct the exams of 10th, 11th and 12th standard a month earlier so that students will be able to carry on their studies as per the previous academic session (Nov-Dec)

On asking about the time to announce the results, the official said, “We will try to announce the results at earliest. I think it will take at least 45-50 days to assess the question papers and some more days to prepare the results respectively.”

The official further said that in order to safeguard the time of candidates, “The students will be given a provisional admission so that their time is not wasted.”

Earlier, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that the government has decided to restore the academic session up to 9th standard to November-December instead of March session.

Omar had further said, “However, in case of the students of 10th to 12th classes, we cannot restore the academic session this year but in the 2025, we will revert the schedule as per the old scheme and their exams will also be held before winter vacations.”—(KNO)

Winter Vacation Announced for Schools in Kashmir and Jammu’s Winter Zones

Srinagar, Dec 06 : The government has announced the winter vacation schedule for all government and recognized private schools up to the higher secondary level in Kashmir Division and the winter zones of Jammu Division.

According to Government Order a copy of which lies with JKNS reads, the government has announced winter vacation schedule for all government and recognized private schools, up to the higher secondary level in Kashmir and Jammu Division and the primary Classes (up to 5th grade): From 10th December 2024 to 28th February 2025

It reads as, classes 6th to 12th Standard, from 16th December 2024 to 28th February 2025.

Additionally, the government has issued a few key directives, as teachers of government high schools and higher secondary schools will be stationed at their respective headquarters from 10th February 2025 for the preparation of upcoming board exams for Class 10, 11, and 12.

It reads, teachers must remain available for online guidance during the vacation period, and strict action will be taken against the heads of institutions or teaching staff if they fail to adhere to this schedule.—(JKNS)

Srinagar, Dec 05: Minister of School & Higher Education, Health & Medical Education and Social Welfare, Government of J&K, Sakina Itoo Thursday said that winter vacations in Kashmir schools will be announced soon.

“Winter vacations are a routine matter, but this winter we have reverted back to November academic session. It is also evident that the valley is under the grip of severe cold and students are facing immense hardships. We want new classes to resume soon and winter vacations announced,” Minister Sakina Itoo told reporters.

She said, “winter vacations will be announced soon”.

Responding to a query, she said the government has already set norms about fee structure in private schools. “If any parent is being duped in the name of admission/annual fee, he/she should report the matter to my office or the department. I assure the strictest action will be taken against the involved schools. We have already clarified that any private school if violates law will be dealt strictly,” she said.
