UGC NET Result 2024 Live Updates: No Negative Marking
Each question asked in the UGC NET exam carries two marks. For each correct answer, the candidate will get two marks. There is no negative marking in the exam. The candidate has to choose only one option to answer a question. UGC NET June 2024 Result: Qualifying Scores
–– Candidates belonging to the unreserved category will have to score at least 40 per cent marks, while those belonging to the reserved category will have to get a minimum of 35 per cent marks.
–– In paper 1 of UGC NET, unreserved category candidates will have to score 40 out of 100 while reserved category candidates have to score 35 out of 100.
–– In paper 2, unreserved category candidates will have to obtain 70-75 marks out of 200. The minimum mark is 65 to 70 for OBC and EWS category candidates, for SC it is 60 to 65, and 55 to 60 for ST.

Career opportunities after clearing UGC NET include:
Assistant Professor: After earning a NET certification and completing a PhD, candidates can seek to work as an assistant professor at several universities across India. Assistant Professor posts at both government and private universities are available at universities.
Junior Research Fellowship: For candidates who pass the UGC NET, a junior research fellowship (JRF) is their second option. The top 10% of UGC NET applicants are chosen for JRF, which includes a monthly stipend provided by the government to help them complete their fellowship. For the first two years, a monthly stipend of Rs 37,000 is provided. Subsequently, upon attaining the status of Senior Research Fellowship, a stipend of Rs 42,000 will be granted.
