NEET UG 2024: Medical Counselling Committee Releases Counselling Schedule Download PDF

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the tentative schedule for the NEET UG counselling  2024. The counselling process will begin from August 14, 2024 for MBBS, BDS, BSc (Nursing) students.

As per the official schedule, the Round 1 registration process will begin on August 14 and conclude on August 21, 2024. The choice filling and locking facility will open on August 16 and will continue till August 20, 2024. The processing of seat allotment will be done from August 21 to August 22, 2024. The results will be announced on August 23. Candidates will be required to report/join from August 24 to 29, 2024. The verification of candidates who join after the first allotment has been scheduled from August 30-31, 2024.

The Round 2 registration process will be held from September 4-5, 2024. The process of seata allotment and verification will be conducted from September 11-12, 2024. Candidates alloted the seats will be asked to report/ join by September 14-20, 2024.

The counselling will take place for the allotment of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats in around 710 medical colleges across the country. Also, the counselling will be held for 21,000 BDS seats besides Ayush and nursing seats.

Meanwhile, the Centre had informed the Rajya Sabha that measures would be taken to protect the interests of the student community.

Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel noted that the government was committed to the best interest of students and would take whatever measures are needed.

As per the data shared by the government, there is an increase of 88 per cent in medical colleges from 387 before 2014 to 731 now. Further, there is an increase of 118 per cent in MBBS seats from 51,348 before 2014 to 1,12,112 in 2024.

UPSC holds CAPF Examination 2024, aims to fill tentatively 506 Assistant Commandant vacancies

Paper I consisting of General Ability and Intelligence, was held from 10 AM to 12 PM, whereas Paper II, which concerns General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension, is scheduled for the second half, from 2 PM to 5 PM. Paper I consists of 250 marks, whereas Paper II has a total of 200 marks.

Those appearing in the exams need to carry their admit cards, a government-issued ID card (Aadhar, PAN, voter card), a hardboard, and a ballpoint pen.

In contrast the list of restricted items include notes, loose sheets, calculators, log tables, stencils of maps, slide rules, test booklets, or rough sheets.

Furthermore, mobile phones or any other communication devices are also not allowed inside the examination centre.

As per the commission, Paper I would be evaluated first, and the evaluation of Paper II would be done only for those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper I.

Candidates who qualify in the written exam will move on to the next stage of the selection process which consists of physical efficiency tests (PET), interview or personality tests, and medical examinations.

Pre-Matric Scholarship
Component I:

Entitlement: Academic allowance ranging from ₹3,500 to ₹7,000 per annum, with an additional 10% allowance for Divyang (specially-abled) students.

Component II:
Eligibility: Students whose parents/guardians are engaged in unclean occupations involving cleaning and prone to health hazards. No income limit criteria. Applicable for students studying in classes 1 to 10 in recognized schools.
Entitlement: Academic allowance ranging from ₹3,500 to ₹8,000 per annum, with an additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.

Post-Matric Scholarship
Eligibility: Students from the SC category with parents’/guardians’ annual income not exceeding ₹2.5 lakhs. Applicable for students pursuing courses in recognized schools/colleges from class 11 onwards.
Entitlement: Compulsory non-refundable fees (including tuition fee) and an academic allowance ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹13,500 per annum, with an additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.

Eligible students from NSP-onboarded states/UTs such as Assam, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Punjab (for Pre-Matric only), Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand can apply through the NSP. Students from other states/UTs should apply via their respective State Scholarship Portals.

Skill Test for Data Entry Operator Posts at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu

The Registrar Office, Main Campus Chatha, Jammu of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST Jammu) has issued a notice regarding the Skill Test for the post of Data Entry Operator. The Skill Test will comprise of a Computer Based Type Test and a Computer Based Skill Test.

The Computer Based Type Test will be conducted on:

  • Speed requirement: 35 wpm
  • Test duration: 10 minutes
  • Accuracy: 90%

The Computer Based Skill Test will be conducted on:

  • Format: Multiple Choice Questions
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Total questions: 60 (candidate to attempt any 50)
  • Evaluation criteria: first 50 attempted questions will be considered
