JKBOSE Declares Result of Computer-Based Type Test for In-Service Class-IV Employees 2026

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially declared the result of the Computer-Based Type Test conducted for in-service Class-IV employees of the Board. The notification has brought relief and excitement among employees who had appeared in the examination held at Srinagar and Jammu centers under the supervision of designated monitoring committees.

The announcement was issued through an official notification by JKBOSE dated May 15, 2026. The examination was conducted by NIELIT and aimed at evaluating the computer typing proficiency of eligible in-service Class-IV employees working within the Board. The results contain the names of qualified, not qualified, and absent candidates from different districts and venues across Jammu and Kashmir.

This latest development is considered important for employees seeking career progression, departmental eligibility, and future administrative opportunities within JKBOSE. The declaration of the results also reflects the Board’s continued push toward digital literacy and modernization in administrative functioning.

Overview of JKBOSE Computer-Based Type Test 2026

The JKBOSE Computer-Based Type Test was conducted following official notices issued earlier by the Administration Central wing of the Board. According to the notification, the test was organized on April 29, 2026, at Srinagar and Jammu centers.

The objective of the examination was to assess the computer handling and typing skills of in-service Class-IV employees. These employees included Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Chowkidars, Gardeners, and other support staff serving in different offices of the Board.

The test was supervised by monitoring committees constituted under official orders of JKBOSE. The Board emphasized transparency and fairness during the examination process. The result declaration now marks the completion of the evaluation stage.

Importance of the Type Test for JKBOSE Employees

The Computer-Based Type Test holds significant importance for Class-IV employees because digital proficiency has become essential in modern office administration. Government and semi-government departments across Jammu and Kashmir are increasingly adopting e-office systems, online file management, and digital communication platforms.

The examination helps determine whether employees possess the required typing and computer operation skills needed for efficient administrative functioning. Employees who qualify may become eligible for additional responsibilities, promotions, or future departmental opportunities where computer literacy is mandatory.

For many employees, qualifying such examinations also serves as a motivational achievement and boosts their confidence in adapting to technological advancements.

Conducting Authority and Examination Process

The test was conducted by NIELIT, a recognized institution known for conducting computer proficiency and digital literacy examinations. JKBOSE collaborated with the institute to ensure the credibility and technical quality of the examination.

The examination centers were established in Srinagar and Jammu. Candidates were allotted venues according to their administrative jurisdiction and convenience.

The Board maintained strict monitoring throughout the examination. Committees constituted by JKBOSE supervised the conduct of the test and ensured that proper guidelines were followed.

The examination process included:

  • Computer typing assessment
  • Basic computer operation tasks
  • Evaluation of typing speed and accuracy
  • Verification of employee credentials
  • Transparent monitoring mechanisms

Categories of Results Declared

The result notification categorized candidates into three major groups:

1. Qualified Candidates

These employees successfully met the required criteria and passed the computer-based type test.

A large number of employees appeared at the Srinagar venue. Many employees from Kashmir division offices participated in the examination.

Jammu Centre

Employees posted in Jammu division offices appeared at the Jammu venue. The Jammu center also witnessed substantial participation.

J&K Govt Hikes DA to 60% for Employees, Pensioners; Arrears to Be Paid

J&K Govt Hikes DA to 60% for Employees, Pensioners; Arrears to Be Paid

Srinagar, May 18: In a major financial relief ahead of the mid-year, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a 2 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for regular employees, pensioners and family pensioners.

According to two separate orders issued by the Finance Department, copies of which were accessed by JKNS, the DA rate has been enhanced from the existing 58 percent to 60 percent of Basic Pay/Basic Pension.

The orders state that the revision will take effect retrospectively from January 1, 2026, following the Council of Ministers’ decision No. 065/06/2026 dated April 30, 2026.

With the latest revision, DA has increased by 2 percent, from 58 percent to 60 percent. The revised DA will form part of the monthly salary and pension from May 2026 onwards.

The orders also outline separate mechanisms for the payment of arrears accumulated from January 2026 to April 2026.

For GPF subscribers under the traditional pension scheme, the additional DA arrears for the four-month period will be credited to their General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts in monthly installments.

For employees covered under the National Pension System (NPS), the arrears for the same period will be paid entirely in cash. The orders further clarify that the employer’s 14 percent share on DA arrears will be drawn, while the employee’s 10 percent contribution will be deducted at source and credited to their respective PRAN accounts.

For pensioners and family pensioners drawing benefits under the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the arrears from January to April 2026 will be paid in cash in May 2026.

The orders also state that fractions of a rupee in DA calculations for pensioners will be rounded off to the next higher rupee.

Defining “Basic Pay,” the Finance Department clarified that it refers strictly to the pay drawn in the prescribed level of the Pay Matrix under the 7th Pay Commission recommendations and does not include special pay or any other allowances.

The directives have been circulated to all key administrative departments, including the Principal Accountant General (A&E) J&K, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, and the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for immediate implementation. — (JKNS)
