About the B.Ed (Distance Mode) Program

The B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) program offered through distance mode by the University of Kashmir is one of the most sought-after courses in the region. It is specifically designed for aspiring teachers and working professionals who cannot attend regular classes but want to acquire a degree in teacher education.

By releasing the answer key soon after the entrance examination, the University ensures transparency and gives every candidate an equal opportunity to verify the correctness of their attempted answers.

Importance of Answer Keys

Answer keys are a critical part of the admission process. They serve several important purposes:

  • Allow students to compare their answers with the official ones.
  • Help candidates calculate their expected scores even before the results are declared.
  • Provide a fair chance to challenge answers if a candidate believes there is an error.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in the admission system.

For many aspirants, checking the answer key is the first step in estimating their chances of securing admission.

Structure of the Answer Key Document

The answer key published by the University is a two-page PDF issued by the DACE. It contains:

  1. Heading: “University of Kashmir, Directorate of Admissions & Competitive Examinations.”
  2. Details: Mention of the program name and date of test (B.Ed Distance Mode, 26-09-2025).
  3. Four Columns for Question Series: Series A, Series B, Series C, and Series D.
  4. Correct Options: For each question (1 to 60), the correct option (A/B/C/D) is listed for all four series.
  5. Note Section: Explains how to submit objections, the deadline, and modes of communication.

This structured format makes it easy for candidates to check their responses according to their specific question paper series.

Sample Entries from the Answer Key

Here is a small sample from the official answer key to give readers a glimpse:

Question No. Series A Series B Series C Series D
1 C D B D
2 C C D A
3 A C B D
10 D C B A
25 C B A D
60 A A C B

This table demonstrates how each series has its own set of correct responses. Therefore, candidates must carefully check their answers only against the key corresponding to their series.

How to Check and Use the Answer Key

Students can follow these steps to make the most of the published answer key:

  1. Identify your question paper series (A, B, C, or D).
  2. Download the official answer key PDF from the University’s website.
  3. Compare your recorded answers against the official key for your series.
  4. Count the number of correct answers to calculate your tentative score out of 60.
  5. If you notice any error or discrepancy in the key, prepare to file an objection.

This process not only helps in estimating performance but also ensures that any potential errors in the key are highlighted and corrected before the final results are declared.

Objection/Complaint Procedure

The University has provided candidates with the opportunity to raise objections against any answer they find incorrect. The details are as follows:

  • Email for submission: admissions@kashmiruniversity.ac.in
  • Deadline: 27 September 2025, up to 5:00 PM.
  • Mode: Only objections submitted via email will be considered.
  • Not accepted: Complaints sent via mobile phones or the University Feedback Forum.
  • After deadline: No objections will be entertained beyond the cut-off date and time.

This system ensures that genuine concerns are heard while maintaining efficiency in the admissions process.

What Happens Next?

After receiving objections from candidates, the Directorate of Admissions & Competitive Examinations will:

  1. Review and verify all the submitted complaints.
  2. Make corrections to the answer key if valid objections are found.
  3. Publish the final answer key.
  4. Use the final key to calculate scores and prepare the merit list.
  5. Announce the results along with cut-off marks and counseling schedule.

Candidates should regularly check the University’s official website for updates regarding result announcements.

Why This Stage is Crucial for Candidates

The answer key stage is a vital part of the admission process. For students, it means:

  • Knowing where they stand before official results.
  • Preparing for the possibility of counseling and admission.
  • Raising valid objections to safeguard their chances.
  • Building confidence for the next steps.

Those who expect to qualify based on their tentative scores should start preparing the required documents for verification and counseling.

JK SED Orders Strict Anti-Drug Measures in Schools, Coaching Centres

Srinagar: The School Education Department (SED) has mandated tough measures to curb drug abuse among students, directing all government and private schools, as well as coaching and tuition centres across J&K, to enforce immediate action.

The department said the growing menace of drug abuse has alarmingly reached school-going children, posing a grave threat to their health, future, and the very purpose of education. Schools and coaching centres, being centres of learning, have been entrusted with the responsibility of shielding young minds from harmful influences.

According to the circular issued by Secretary SED as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, frisking of students at entry points and random checks during school hours have been made mandatory. Institutions have been directed to strengthen surveillance mechanisms, frame drug-free policies, and constitute vigilance committees involving teachers, parents, and students.

Mandatory installation of CCTV cameras, monitoring of vulnerable spots such as canteens and secluded areas, and strict vigilance over nearby tuck shops have also been ordered. Suspicious behaviour of both students and staff is to be closely monitored and documented.

The circular further directs every school to appoint a trained counsellor and establish counselling cells, supported by training programmes in collaboration with SCERT, DIETS and IMHANS. A dedicated drug abuse prevention helpline will be set up at the Directorates of School Education for immediate reporting and action.

Regular awareness programmes, seminars, and cultural activities highlighting the ill effects of drug abuse will be organised, with active collaboration from police, NGOs, and health authorities. Parents will also be engaged through special PTMs focused on recognising early signs of drug abuse.

Schools have been asked to promote sports, cultural, and extracurricular activities while forming “Nasha-Mukt Clubs” for student engagement. Heads of institutions must also coordinate with police and other line departments to ensure vigilance and preventive interventions.

Every Head of Institution has been directed to submit a monthly compliance report, failing which disciplinary action will be taken. In case of private schools or tuition centres, lapses may even result in de-recognition. Special joint monitoring squads comprising police, education, and health officials will conduct surprise inspections, with strict legal action against offenders.

The department said the measures are being enforced in the larger interest of safeguarding students’ health, education, and future. (KNC)
