LG Sinha Orders Transfers, Postings of Several JKAS Officers

Srinagar, May 7 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday ordered a series of administrative transfers and postings involving several JKAS officers across Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency JKNS, the reshuffle has been made in the interest of administration and comes into effect immediately.

Mufti M. Farid-ud-din, Special Secretary to the Government in the Industries and Commerce Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara.

Ghulam Rasool Mir and Pankaj Magotra, both awaiting adjustment in the General Administration Department (GAD), have been posted as ADDC Baramulla and ADDC Poonch, respectively.

Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, serving as Special Secretary in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, has been posted as ADDC Ganderbal.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Ashraf Sheikh, who was under orders of transfer to Awantipora, will continue as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama.

Reyaz Ahmad Shah, earlier transferred to Kupwara as ADC, will now await further posting orders in the GAD.

Gulzar Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, and Mazahir Hussain Shah also awaiting adjustment have been appointed as ADC Kupwara, ADC Awantipora, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ramsoo, respectively.

The order has been issued to streamline administrative functioning across key districts in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)

Srinagar, May 08 (KNO): In view of the prevailing situation the administration Wednesday said that the schools and colleges in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Gurez as well as those falling near the Srinagar airport shall continue to remain closed on Thursday.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said that all educational institutions around Srinagar airport were ordered to remain closed on Wednesday.

Bidhuri however further said, “Schools and colleges Baramulla, Kupwara and Gurez valley shall also remain closed on Thursday as well.”

He further said that the educational institutions in Gurez valley shall also remain closed on Thursday.

In the meantime, the divisional administration in Jammu has also ordered closure of educational institutions in five districts, including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch.

“In view of the prevailing situation all Schools, Colleges & educational institutions (private as well as Government) in the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch will remain closed tomorrow also: Div Com Jammu,” Jammu admin said.

Meanwhile, University of Kashmir (KU) has also postponed all the exams that were scheduled to be held till May-10.

Assistant Controller Conduct of KU in an order said, “It is hereby notified that all examinations of the University of Kashmir scheduled to be held upto and including 10.05.2025 stand postponed.”

Cluster University Srinagar also said that the examinations of varsity scheduled on 07-05-2025 are postponed. “Fresh dates for the postponed papers shall be notified separately.”—(KNO)

Baramulla, May 7 (JKNS): In view of the prevailing situation, authorities have directed several private school heads in Sopore and Baramulla to immediately dispatch their school buses to Degree College Baramulla within one hour.

According to a directive issued by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Baramulla, a copy of which lies with JKNS, the concerned schools are required to send a specific number of buses to the location and maintain close coordination with the District Administration and ARTO Baramulla.

The schools ordered to send buses include SRM Welkin School Sopore (25 buses), Netherfield School Sopore (10), DPS Baramulla (10), Arafeen School Delina (10), Sanctorum Public School Sopore (10), Apex Public School Sopore (10), and GD Goenka Baramulla (10).

The school heads have been directed to submit details of dispatched vehicles along with the driver’s name and contact number to the ARTO office without delay.

The order warns that any negligence will be taken seriously and non-compliance may result in the cancellation of the vehicle’s registration without further notice.

The directive, dated May 7, concludes with a strong note: “Matter be treated as most urgent.” (JKNS)

Srinagar, May 7 (JKNS): Cluster University Srinagar has announced the postponement of all examinations scheduled for May 8, 2025.

A notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, reads: “All the examinations of Cluster University Srinagar scheduled on 08-05-2025 are hereby postponed.”

“Fresh dates for the postponed papers shall be notified separately,” it further states.

The decision comes in the wake of the prevailing security situation across Jammu and Kashmir following India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ strikes, due to which authorities have taken precautionary measures in several districts. (JKNS)
