JKSSB Notification: Additional Document Verification for Receptionist Post (Hospitality & Protocol Department)

JKSSB Notification: Additional Document Verification for Receptionist Post (Hospitality & Protocol Department)

The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an important notification inviting additional candidates for Document Verification (DV) for the post of Receptionist in the Hospitality & Protocol Department. This update concerns candidates who fall in the consideration zone following the evaluation of results under Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2022, Item No. 129. It represents a critical opportunity for aspirants who were placed around the cut-off threshold to progress further in the selection process.

📄 Official Notification PDF:

This notification provides detailed instructions regarding the date, time, venue, and list of additional candidates required to appear for document verification. Candidates applying for this post must follow the schedule and instructions to avoid disqualification.

What Is the JKSSB Receptionist Post?

The Receptionist position under the Hospitality & Protocol Department is a key role focused on managing front-desk activities, public interactions, and administrative support functions. This post was initially advertised under Notification No. 04 of 2022, Item No. 129 and carries a Level-4 pay scale with 10,000-00 (indicative). The minimum educational qualification required is 10+2 with a 3-year Diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized institute, and the selection is based on merit in a written examination conducted by the JKSSB.

Why the Additional Document Verification Is Being Conducted

In competitive recruitments like the JKSSB selection process, there often exists a “consideration zone” — a set of candidates whose scores are marginally below the initial cut-off but may be considered for further stages due to:

  • Vacancies remaining unfilled after the first list,
  • Tie in marks between candidates, or
  • Re-evaluation of merit and reservation criteria.

The Board periodically reviews results and ranking lists to ensure all eligible candidates are given a fair chance to complete the recruitment process. Consequently, candidates in this zone are now being called for additional document verification.

Key Highlights of the Additional DV Notice

Here are the most critical points every candidate should know from the JKSSB notification:

1. Eligible Candidates

Only those candidates who were placed in the consideration zone based on the written examination results are eligible. These candidates are identified by the Board after detailed scrutiny of scores, reservation criteria, and merit lists.

2. Document Verification (DV) Requirement

Candidates must appear for DV in person, carrying all original documents and self-attested copies. Failure to present required documents in original will result in disqualification. Commonly required documents include:

  • Admit Card / Scorecard
  • Original Certificates of Educational Qualification (10+2 and Diploma)
  • Domicile Certificate
