DC Srinagar felicitates IIT-JEE, NEET and JKBOSE toppers
Srinagar, July 07, KDC: To encourage and honour the hard work of meritorious students to boost their morale, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today felicitated students from RISE Institute who have achieved a remarkable feat by securing an outstanding score JEE, NEET and JKBOSE exams.
The Deputy Commissioner who was the Chief Guest on the occasion felicitated over 50 students who had qualified for IITs, NITs, GMCs and secured positions in Board examinations.
The DC also congratulated all the students for showing brilliant performance and said that the JEE exam is considered one of the toughest Engineering Entrance Exams in India and is the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
The DC said this exceptional performance is a testament of hard work, dedication, and academic ability of these students and is a proud moment not just for them but also for RISE and the community as a whole. He hoped that the success achieved by the students would inspire other students also to work hard to excel in their studies and future academic careers.
The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, an IIT Delhi alumnus himself, shared interesting snippets and experiences about his time as student at IIT Delhi. He underlined about the advancement in technology and Artificial Intelligence and how it is merging with medical sciences, engineering and other subjects.
He also appreciated the quality of work that is being done by the team of IITians at RISE in Kashmir. He expressed how RISE has made tremendous contributions to the education sector in Kashmir and hoped in future it would scale to bigger heights. He promised to be back and next time expected to felicitate a larger number of students.
The DC also interacted with the students in a classroom and not only encouraged students to study hard but also provided specific advice on how to do well in such tough exams.

1. From 06-07-2023, 1700 hrs. to 07-07-2023, 1700 hrs. there was slow movement on NH-44 due to breakdown of 13 HMVs and single stretch at Mehar, Cafeteria and Dalwas between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44 and no HMV will be allowed after 1800 hrs. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.
*Moreover, in view of forth coming Shri Amarnath Ji yatra 2023 and hassle free movement of trucks on NH-44 administration has decided all tankers of Pol, Diesel, LPG bulk gas, all empty LPG Cylinders carrying trucks; all empty vehicles of FCI; any other vehicle having upto 10-tyres shall adopt Mughal Road.*

Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW and ongoing SANJY 2023. *Tomorrow they may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban. They shall leave Jammu immediately after the Yatra Convoy i.e. between 0415 hrs and 0600 hrs* . It must be kept in mind that after 0600 hrs LMVs shall be permitted to ply on NH-44 from Jammu towards Srinagar.

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road shall be allowed from both sides viz Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0730 hrs. to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings.

Man dies after lightening strikes him in Kulgam village

Kulgam, July 07 (KNO): A man died after lightning struck him in Guddar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the man identified as Abdul Hameed Khan son of Ghulam Hassan Khan was on his way to agricultural land when the lightning struck him.
“He has died on the spot”, he said, adding that the further proceedings have been taken up in this regard—(KNO)
