All Schools, Colleges to Reopen Tomorrow Except in Kupwara, Baramulla, Gurez: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, May 12 (JKNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V.K. Bidhuri on Monday said that all schools and colleges across the Valley will reopen from Tuesday, with the exception of those located in Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Sub-District of Gurez.

Speaking to news agency JKNS, Div Com Kashmir V.K Bidhuri said, “Schools, Colleges will resume functioning from tomorrow in all districts except Kupwara, Baramulla and Gurez, where the situation is still being monitored.”

The decision follows a period of closure due to heightened tensions in the region last week. Authorities are assessing the situation in the excluded areas and will announce reopening dates accordingly. (JKNS)

Srinagar, May 12 (JKNS): The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Monday notified that online classes will continue till 6th June.

As per an official notice issued by the Dean Academic Affairs at NIT Srinagar, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, “The following decisions taken in the meeting of the Dean Academic Affairs, Dean Students Welfare and Registrar, with the Director (i/c) are notified for the information of all the students (UG & PG) that “Online classes shall continue till 6th June 2025.”

“Hostels shall open from 9th June 2025 and Classes in physical mode shall start from 11th June 2025,” reads the notice.

This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.” (JKNS)

CUET UG 2025: NTA Issues Important Guidelines for Exam Day

CUET 2025: The second-largest entrance exam – Common University Entrance Test – Undergraduate (CUET UG 2025) – conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) will begin tomorrow, May 13, after a five-day postponement from the originally scheduled date. The CUET UG admit card 2025 for students appearing in the exam from May 13 to 16 is not available on the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.

Around 13.5 candidates have registered for the CUET UG 2025 exam, which will cover 37 including 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and one general aptitude test. The CUET question paper will be prepared in 13 Indian languages – Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Students should carry the CUET admit card 2025 to the exam centre along with the duly-filled self-declaration form and valid photo ID card. Only those candidates who complete the frisking and document verification before the scheduled exam time will be allowed entry.

Candidates should note that the NTA has postponed the CUET 2025 exam for 2 states and 3 Union Territories – Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Chandigarh.

CUET UG 2025: Key guidelines

CUET 2025 will be held in three shifts – shift 1 from 9 am to 10 am, second shift from 12 noon to 1 pm, and last shift from 3 pm to 4 pm. The NTA has also issued important guidelines for CUET UG exam 2025 to be followed by all students.

  • Candidates have been advised to reach at least 2 hours before the exam. This means, entry gate for shift 1 will open at 7 am, shift 2 at 10 am, and shift 3 from 12 noon.
  • The NTA will not take any responsibility for any delay caused due to traffic jams, train, or bus delays. Students who reach the exam centre late are likely to miss important instructions to be announced in the exam hall.
  • A seat indicating roll number will be allotted to each candidate. The CUET seat allotment will be displayed on the day of the exam.
  • Candidates are required to check if the question paper displayed on the computer allotted is the one opted by them during registration. In case, the subject paper is different, they are required to immediately inform the centre in-charge.
  • In case of technical issues or assistance, first-aid emergency, or any other information, students may approach the centre superintendent or the invigilator.
  • Candidates are prohibited from carrying barred items inside the exam hall. Pencil boxes, handbag, mobile phone, calculator, camera, or electronic items are not allowed inside the exam hall.
  • CUET results 2025 will be cancelled for those students found indulging in unfair means or for furnishing false information.
  • If applicable, PwBD certificate should be submitted at the time of verification to avail the benefit of additional time.

Srinagar, May 12 (JKNS): After several days of suspension due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Srinagar International Airport is likely to open operations from Tuesday.

Official sources told news agency JKNS, “Green signal has been given. Hopefully, Srinagar Airport will resume operations tomorrow; however, we must wait for official Signal,” a senior official said.

The airport was among several key installations closed for civil flights from May 9 amid last week’s military standoff. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) had issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), leading to the temporary suspension of operations.

Officials said that with a ceasefire now in place, aviation authorities have begun preparations for the safe resumption of services. A formal announcement regarding the reopening is expected soon.

The likely resumption of flights at Srinagar Airport is being seen as a sign of easing tensions and a return to normalcy in the region. (JKNS)

JEE Advanced 2025: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will issue admit cards for the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Advanced 2025 tomorrow, May 12, 2025. Candidates who will appear for the exam will get their hall tickets at jeeadv.ac.in.

According to a message displayed on the official website, the JEE Advanced Admit Card 2025 will be released at 10 AM.

Originally, the admit card was scheduled to be out on May 11, 2025, but according to recent information, it will be released on May 12. The JEE Advanced admit card will be available for download until May 18, 2025.

On admit cards, candidates will get to know the address of their exam centres, reporting time, exam day guidelines, etc. They must bring a printed copy of the admit card along with the required documents to the exam venue.

If there is any error on the admit card, they should immediately contact the exam conducting authority and report it.

JEE Advanced 2025 will be held on May 18, 2025. The exam will consist of two papers- Paper 1 and 2. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and Paper 2 will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Appearing in both papers is compulsory.

The JEE Advanced 2025 will be conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board 2025 (JAB 2025).
