Srinagar, Feb 05 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha Monday appointed Dr Naseer Iqbal as new registrar for University of Kashmir.

Besides, Sinha appointed Dr Fayaz Ahmad Loan as Librarian of Allama Iqbal Library, Dr Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad as director- North Campus and Dr Mandeep Singh was appointed as director Physical Education.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Additional Secretary for Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat said that the
appointment was made on basis of recommendations of the selection committee for appointment of various positions in the University of Kashmir on tenure basis.

“I am desired to convey the approval of Lieutenant Governor of J&K (Chancellor) University of Kashmir to the appointment four vacancies against the respective positions in the University of Kashmir subject to the satisfactory vigilance clearance,” the official said—(KNO)

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the holiday on account of Shab-i-Miraj shall now be observed on Thursday instead of Wednesday—(KNO)

JAMMU, February 5, 2024 – The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced that it will be issuing admit cards for the upcoming OMR based written examination for the post of Veterinary Pharmacist, Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department.

The exam is scheduled to be held on February 11, 2024. Admit cards will be available for download on the official JKSSB website (www.jkssb.nic.in) starting February 6, 2024.

Candidates can download their admit cards using their email ID and date of birth as login credentials. The admit cards contain important instructions that candidates must read carefully.

The JKSSB notification stated that candidature will be cancelled for candidates found ineligible by misrepresentation, impersonation, fraud etc. There will also be negative marking for wrong answers in the exam.

UT’s total budget estimates for 2024-25 expected to be Rs 1.18 lakh crore

Srinagar, Feb 05 (KNO): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday unveiled Rs 59, 364 crore interim budget for Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory, while the budget estimates for the next fiscal are expected at Rs 1,18,728 crore.

The budget documents available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reveal that the total receipts in respect of the proposed “Vote on Account” for 2024-25 are estimated at Rs 59,364 crore, excluding the provision for ways and means advances of Rs 16,568 crore.
These receipts in respect of the proposed “Vote on Account” for 2024-25 include Rs. 48,930 crore as revenue receipts and Rs. 10,434 crore as capital receipts.
According to the documents, the total gross receipts in respect of proposed “Vote on Account” for 2024-25 are estimated at Rs 75,932 crore, including the provision for ways and means advances of Rs 16,568 crore.

The Parliament’s approval has been sought only for Rs 75,932 crore, including the provision for ways and means advances of Rs 16,568 crore.

The UT’s full budget would be presented once the new government is elected in the 2024 general elections.

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, Union Territory of J&K, has issued a circular regarding the updation of subject/s, photograph, and signature of candidates in Higher Secondary Part-I (Class 11th) for the current academic session 2023-24. This follows a previous circular dated 26th December, 2023, with the latest notification extending the deadline for submission.

The circular, numbered F(JSE/upd/sbjs/KD)B/KD/23, dated 26th December, 2023, had initially set the deadline for the submission of cases for updation from an unspecified start date to 26th January, 2024. However, in the latest notification, the board has decided to extend this deadline from 24th January, 2024, to 31st January, 2024.

Importantly, the extension comes with a financial implication for candidates. The board has specified a fine of Rs 500/- per candidate (Rupees Five Hundred) only for submissions made during this extended period. This underscores the importance of adhering to the original deadline and encourages candidates to complete the necessary updation within the stipulated timeframe.

National Testing Agency, NTA will start NEET UG Exam 2024 registration process in due course of time. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test registration link will be available to candidates on the official website of NTA NEET at neet.nta.nic.in.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET (UG)] – 2024 will be conducted on May 5, 2024. The examination duration is for 3 hours 20 minutes. The Test pattern of NEET (UG) – 2023 comprises four Subjects. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A will consist of 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions, out of these 15 Questions, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 Questions. So, the total number of questions and utilization of time will remain the same.

Jammu-Srinagar Highway Traffic Update for 5 February

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 03-02-2024, 1700 hrs. to 04-02-2024, 1700 hrs., Jammu- Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 02 hrs. 05 mins. due to landslide at Kishtwari Pather and shooting stone at Shalgarhi Banihal. Slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to poor surface condition of road at Dalwas, Mehar, Hingani, sherbibi and single lane traffic at Kishtwari Pather and Hingani between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

2. Passengers/LMVs operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during day time. Please avoid journey during night hours as apprehension of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

3. HMVs Operators/Owners are requested to desist from overloading and carry sufficient fuel during journey on Jammu- Srinagar NHW. It is further requested that vehicle owners must double check the fitness of their vehicles and carry sufficient fuel before undertaking journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

4. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 05-02-2024:-

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVS Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice- versa. However, HMVs shall be managed on regulated manner.
