Teacher suspended for violating MCC in Poonch

Poonch, Sep 11: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Poonch has suspended a Grade-II teacher, from Government Middle School Dhangri, Zone Sathra, for allegedly participating in political activities during the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections.

In this regards, an order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Poonch, a copy of which lies with the News Vibes of India, reads Shazia Amin, a Grade-II teacher in Government Middle School Dhangri, Zone Sathra, was, reportedly, engaged in political activities related to the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, and was suspended by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Poonch, based on a report by the Returning Officer for the 89-Poonch Haveli Assembly constituency.

It reads as the contribution of a teacher in a political rally with images circulating on social media, thus flouting the Model Code of Conduct, invited immediate disciplinary action.

“Pending an inquiry, Shazia Amin has been suspended and attached to DNRMM Girls Higher Secondary School, Poonch. An inquiry into the incident has been initiated, with the Principal of Model Higher Secondary School, Sawjian, and Principal of DNRMM Girls Higher Secondary School, Poonch as enquiry officers. They are expected to submit a report within a week,” reads the order.—(NVI)

CAT 2024: Last Chance to Register for Common Admission Test – Key Details Inside

Registrations will close for the Common Admission Test (CAT) on September 13, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates who wish to appear in the entrance exam can visit the official website of the CAT 2024 to fill the application forms. Admit cards for the test are scheduled to be released on November 5. The exam will be conducted by IIM Calcutta on November 24 across 170 cities. Candidates from general category will be required to pay an examination fee of Rs 2,500, while an examination fee of Rs 1,250 is required for reserved category candidates.

Candidates are required to have at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA to apply for the CAT exam. For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD), the eligibility criteria is 45 per cent marks.

Seat reservation
As per legal requirements, 15 per cent of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates. Around 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, 27 per cent of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the ‘non-creamy’ layer (NC-OBC). Up to 10 per cent of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates.

CAT 2024: Steps to apply

  • Step 1: Register to generate a unique user ID and password.
  • Step 2: Log in with the generated user ID and password to fill in the application form.
  • Step 3: Submit the application form after entering details and making online payment.
  • Step 4: During registration, the mobile number and email address provided by the domestic candidates will be verified through an OTP sent to that mobile number and email address.
  • Step 5: Once the OTP is verified, the user ID and the password will be sent to the registered email address and to the registered mobile number to complete the registration process.
  • Overseas candidates will receive the OTP on their email address only.  Once the payment is made and the application form is submitted, applicants will not be allowed to make any changes.

Exam pattern
The exam will include three sections: data interpretation and logical reasoning, verbal and reading comprehension, and quantitative aptitude. The question paper will feature two types of questions: multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and type-in-the-answer (TITA), with a total score of 198 marks. For those pursuing an MBA, there are 21 IIMs and over 1,000 other MBA institutions that accept CAT scores. Notable non-IIM B-schools include FMS Delhi, SJMSoM IIT Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, DoMS IIT Delhi, and SPJIMR Mumbai.

1. Visit the official Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) website at upsc.gov.in.
2. On the homepage, locate and click on the “Admit Card” section.

PAPER PATTERN FOR UPSC MAINS 2024

Eligible candidates can register for the IGNOU TEE December 2024 examination form for online and open distance learning programmes on the official website, exam.ignou.ac.in.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has begun accepting applications for the Term-End Examination (TEE) 2024 for the December session. Eligible students enrolled in online and open distance learning (ODL) programmes can now fill out the examination form on the official website, exam.ignou.ac.in.

The TEE December 2024 exams are scheduled to begin on December 2, with the last date to apply without a late fee being October 15, 2024.

According to IGNOU’s official website, “The December 2024 Term-end Examinations for ODL & Online Programmes (Pen & Paper & CBT Mode) are likely to commence from 02nd December 2024 onwards.”

The exam form submission link, along with project and practical exam submission guidelines, is currently open. Students in the first year or those re-registered for the second or third year of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, PG diploma, certificate, PG certificate, and semester-based courses must submit their exam forms by the deadline. If the results for June TEE 2024 are not available before the form submission deadline, students must still submit their December TEE forms.

As per an official communication, the J&K Haj Committee has informed that applicants possessing machine readable valid Indian International Passports issued on or before 23rd September, 2024 and valid at least up to 15th January, 2026 are eligible to apply for Haj – 2025.

Meanwhile, applications can be submitted online only at the website of Haj Committee of India www.hajcommittee.gov.in or Android Mobile App ‘HAJ SUVIDHA’ available at Google Play-store. According to news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), the court has granted him bail up to October 2, 2024. It allows Engineer to contest in the forthcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Engineer is an influential political figure accused of terror financing; however, he has pleaded not guilty, claiming the charges are politically motivated.

Selection Process
