Assembly polls: 279 candidates file nomination papers for Phase-1
Scrutiny of papers to be held On Wednesday; Withdrawal By Or Before 30 August
Jammu, August 27 (GNS): As many as 279 candidates have filed their nomination papers across 24 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) of seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir which are going to polling in the first phase of J&K Assembly Election on September 18.
Tuesday was the last day of filing nomination papers for the first phase of Assembly Election scheduled to be held on September 18, 2024.
A statement from the office of Chief Electoral Officer provided details about the candidates who have filed their nominations.
According to GNS, a total of 72 candidates have filed their nominations in Anantnag district, followed by 55 in Pulwama district, 41 in Doda district, 32 in Kishtwar district, 28 in Shopian district, 28 in Kulgam district, while 23 candidates have filed nominations in Ramban district.
In Jammu division, for the three ACs in Kishtwar district, a total of 13 candidates have filed nomination from 48-Inderwal AC; 11 candidates have filed nomination from 49-Kishtwar AC; while 8 candidates have filed nomination from 50-Padder-Nagseni AC.
In the three ACs in Doda district, 16 candidates have filed nomination from 51-Bhadarwah AC; 16 candidates have filed nomination from 52-Doda AC; while 9 candidates have filed nomination from 53-Doda West AC.
For the two ACs in Ramban district, a total of 13 candidates have filed nomination from 54-Ramban AC; while 10 candidates have filed nomination from 55-Banihal AC.
In Kashmir division, for the four ACs in Pulwama district, 16 candidates have filed nomination from 32-Pampore AC; 13 candidates have filed nomination from 33-Tral AC; 14 candidates have filed nomination from 34-Pulwama AC; while 12 candidates have filed nomination from 35-Rajpora AC.
A total of 15 candidates have filed nomination from 36-Zainapora AC; while 13 candidates have filed nomination from 37-Shopian AC in Shopian district.
In the three ACs in Kulgam district, 6 candidates have filed nomination from 38-DH Pora AC; 11 candidates have filed nomination from 39-Kulgam AC; while 11 candidates have filed nomination from 40-Devsar AC.
For the seven ACs in Anantnag district, a total of 12 candidates have filed nomination from 41-Dooru AC; 11 candidates have filed nomination from 42-Kokernag (ST) AC; 14 candidates have filed nomination from 43-Anantnag West AC; 13 candidates have filed nomination from 44-Anantnag AC; 3 candidates have filed nomination from 45-Srigufwara-Bijbehara AC; 13 candidates have filed nomination from 46-Shangus-Anantnag East AC; while 6 candidates have filed nomination from 47-Pahalgam AC.
It may be mentioned that more than 23.27 lakh voters which include11.76 lakh male voters and 11.51 lakh female voters and 60 Third Gender Electors are eligible to exercise their electoral franchise during the Phase-I of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election, scheduled to be held on 18 September 2024. 5.66 lakh youth voters are also eligible for voting.
The notification for the Phase-I was issued on 20 August, 2024 and the last date for filing the nominations for Phase-I was 27 August, 2024 till 3:00 pm.
The nomination papers will be scrutinised by the respective Returning Officers on 28 August, 2024, while the candidates can withdraw their nomination paper by or before 30 August, 2024 upto 3:00 pm in the office of Returning Officer. Thereafter, validly nominated candidates will be in the electoral fray. (GNS)
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) invites application for vacancies for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts. RRB has increased the new number of vacancies to 14298 for the post of Technician Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3 across 40 categories which was earlier 9144 for 18 categories.

ISRO Recruitment 2024: 30 Vacancies, Salary Up to Rs 1.42 Lakh/Month
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will soon begin the recruitment processs for 30 vacancies under the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The vacancies are available for posts of Welder, Fitter, Mechanical, Electrical, Turner, Machinist, Heavy Vehicle Driver ‘A’, Cook, Light Vehicle Driver ‘A’, Mechanic Auto Electrical And Electronics and Electronic Mechanic. The selected candidates can get up to Rs 1,42,000 salary as per the post and qualifications.

Mechanical post: The applicant should have a three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with first class and should have passed SSLC/SSC in Welder Trade from NCVT.
Heavy Vehicle Driver ‘A’- The applicant should have passed class 10 or a similar exam from any recognized board or institute. The candidate should have 5 years of experience, out of which at least 3 years should be as a heavy vehicle driver and the remaining period should have experience driving light motor vehicles. They should also have an HVD licence and Public Service Badge.
Light Vehicle Driver ‘A’– Candidates should have a matric pass.The candidate should have 3 years of experience as a light vehicle driver. Candidates should have a valid LVD licence.

Mera Ration 2.0 App:
If you have a ration card, it’s important to know that to keep your ration card active, the government has introduced a new mobile application. It is essential to register in this application to continue benefiting from your ration card. This application is called Mera Ration 2.0 App, and it provides several options related to your ration card, such as KYC (Know Your Customer), adding a new member to your family, or transferring your ration card to a new location. The government has added many features to this application.
Here, we will explain how any ration cardholder can register and use this application.
Mera Ration 2.0 App Registration Online:
First, go to the Play Store.
Search for “Mera Ration 2.0 App”.
The new government application will appear as “Mera Ration 2.0”. Install it.
Note: If you have the old version of the Mera Ration App on your phone, uninstall it first.
When you open the app for the first time, you will be asked to select a language. Choose your language and click Next.
Click on the “Get Started” option.
To access your ration card, you must first log in.
Select the “Beneficiaries Users” option.
Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha code, and click on “Login with OTP”.
Note: You can enter the Aadhaar number of any family member linked to your ration card. The details of all members will be fetched and displayed, allowing you to make any necessary changes in the application.
An OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar card. Enter the OTP.
Once the OTP is verified, you will be asked to set a PIN. After setting this PIN, you won’t need to enter an OTP for future logins.
Enter the 4-digit PIN, click Next, and re-enter the PIN for verification. Click on “Create MPIN”.
Your PIN will be set, and the details of your ration card will be fetched and displayed in the application.
You will be asked to allow permission for your location. Allow it.
Your ration card will be fetched and displayed within the app. This smart ration card will replace the old paper ration card, and you can view all family members linked to the ration card. The dealer details and all other information related to the ration card will also be shown. You can download your ration card by clicking on “Download” and keep it with you.
Additionally, the app offers several options such as checking if your ration card KYC is completed, adding new members to your ration card, and getting a digital copy of your ration card, which can be used to receive rations at any dealer’s shop.
