Exam body clarifies after videos claim CUET-UG answer sheets kept in open

The clarification comes after some viral videos showed boxes kept outside the agency office, with people alleging that they contained answer sheets for the CUET-UG 2024.

Amid the ongoing row over the NEET-UG alleged paper leak, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday denied allegations of careless handling of answer sheets of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2024.

“These are empty boxes kept outside the hall at NTA and do not have any sensitive material inside them. Never did we keep these boxes open, as reported by the media. Also, we have a sufficient number of security personnel deployed at the place where boxes are kept,” the exam body said in a post on X.

The clarification comes after some viral videos showed boxes kept outside the agency office, with people alleging that they contained answer sheets for the CUET-UG 2024.

A few days ago, the agency had issued a clarification against a video claiming that the NTA website had been hacked. “The NTA website and all its web portals are fully secure. Any information that has been compromised and hacked is wrong and misleading,” the agency tweeted.

CUET-UG 2024 is held for the students who are seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs), and other participating universities (State Universities, Autonomous Institutions, Private Universities, deemed Universities) across the country, for the academic session 2024- 25.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing multiple cases of NEET UG paper leaks and has made several arrests till now.

The NEET UG examination row was also mentioned by President Droupadi Murumu in her address in Parliament today. “The recent irregularities and paper leaks are being dealt with strongly, and the government’s focus is on improving the exam process,” she said.

Srinagar, June 29, 2024: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued a notification concerning candidates involved in alleged misconduct during the Higher Secondary Examination Part-I (Class 11th) Annual/Regular-2024 for the Kashmir Division. This notification is applicable to both the Soft Zone and Hard Zone areas.

Opportunity for Scrutiny and Disposal:
Candidates bearing the roll numbers listed in the notification are required to present themselves before the UFM committee for scrutiny and disposal of their cases. Board officials conducted surprise inspections at exam centers to prevent cheating and other unfair practices. Students can also request photocopies of their answer sheets and OMR sheets.

The annual exam results for CBSE Class 10, 12 were released on May 13. A total of 93.12% of students passed the exam, which is an increase of 0.48% from last year. Out of 21,65,805 students who appeared, 20,16,779 passed.

Among institutions, JNV and KVs had the highest pass rate at 99.09%, followed by independent schools at 94.54%, CTSA at 94.40%, government schools at 86.72%, and government-aided schools at 83.95%.

Over 39 lakh students registered for the board exams this year, which were conducted in 26 countries, including India. The number of students placed in the compartment category (full subjects) decreased from 134,774 (6.22%) in 2023 to 132,337 (5.91%) this year.

In CBSE Class 12 exam, a total of 87.98% students pssed, recording a slight increase of 0.65%.

Indian Airforce Medical Assistant 2024 Selection Process

According to the detailed notice released for Group ‘Y’/ Medical Assistant posts, candidates will have to participate in 5 phased of selection round including Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test – II & Medical Appointments. All candidates who qualify PFT shall undertake Written Test on the same day.

The Written Test will be objective type and the question paper shall be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.

Further, all candidates who pass the Written Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-II on the same or subsequent day depending on the local conditions. Adaptability Test-II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the Military way of life.

NEET UG Re-Exam Results: Release Date and Steps to Check

Out of the total 1,563 candidates, only 813 had appeared in the NEET UG re-examination held on June 23. The results are expected to be released on June 30.

The National Testing Agency, NTA, is expected to release the results of the recently held NEET-UG re-examination results on June 30. Candidates who appeared in the re-test will be able to check the scores on the official website exams.nta.ac.in/NEET when released8.

Notably, the NEET UG re-examination was conducted on June 23, 2024, for the 1,563 candidates who were given grace marks for allegedly experiencing time loss during the originally scheduled examination on May 5.

Interestingly, out of the 1,563 candidates, only 813 candidates had appeared in the re-test. It was learned that In Chhattisgarh, 291 out of 602 eligible candidates appeared for the examination, 287 out of 494 in Haryana, and 234 out of 464 in Meghalaya. In Chandigarh, both eligible candidates remained absent. One student appeared in the center in Gujarat.

The NTA had said earlier, “Only 52 percent of a total of 1563 candidates gave retest on June 23. Attendance 813 total. On two Jajjar centres, attendance was 58.09 per cent. Out of 494, 287 gave the retest.”

The NTA had further informed that “63 candidates were debarred from all over the country over malpractices. 17 candidates from Bihar have been debarred for malpractices during the NEET examination. 30 candidates from centers in Godhra have been debarred.”

The re-conduct of the exam was announced following allegations of irregularities in NEET-UG, including paper leaks. As many as 67 students scored a perfect 720, unprecedented in the NTA’s history, with six from a center in Haryana’s Faridabad figuring in the list, further raising suspicions about irregularities.

Allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities had also come to the fore from states like Bihar leading to protests in several cities and petitions in several high courts and the Supreme Court. Bihar Police had arrested several individuals following the allegations.

Meanwhile, the NTA had cancelled the UGC-NET exam conducted on June 18 claiming that the integrity of the examination was compromised.
