Srinagar, Jan 16 (GNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will take salute at Main function at Maulana Azad Stadium Jammu while Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar will preside over the celebrations at Srinagar.

The DDC Chairpersons’, as per an order copy available with GNS, will take salute at main function in respective district headquarters’.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has once again opened its doors to aspiring individuals with a passion for aviation, as it announces the Agniveervayu intake for 01/2025 under the Agnipath scheme. Unmarried Indian males and females born between January 2, 2004, and July 2, 2007, are invited to register online from January 17 to February 6, 2024.

Educational Qualifications:

Science Subjects: Candidates with Science backgrounds must have completed Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examinations with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English. Additionally, candidates can qualify through a three-year diploma course in various engineering fields or a two-year vocational course with non-vocational subjects like Physics and Mathematics.

Other than Science Subjects

Individuals from non-Science backgrounds should have passed Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examinations with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English. Alternatively, a two-year vocational course with the same criteria is accepted.

Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examinations are given the option to appear for both Science and Other than Science Subjects in one sitting during online registration.

Weather Update: Light Rain/Snow Predicted in Jammu Kashmir from 25 to 27 January

Srinagar, Jan 16: Amid forecast for dry weather, minimum temperature recorded a fall with Srinagar recording a low of minus 4.6°C on Tuesday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that temperature was three notches below the previous night’s minus 4.3° and 2.5°C below normal for the summer capital of J&K for this time of the year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 4.4°C against minus 4.2°C on the previous night, he said. The minimum temperature was 1.1°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, the MeT official said.

Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 5.44°C against minus 5.6°C on the previous night and it was 1.8°C above normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir.

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of minus 2.3°C against minus 2.0°C on the previous night and the temperature was above normal by 1.3°C for the place, the official said.

Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.4°C against minus 4.1°C on the previous night and it was 1.3°C below normal there, the official said.

Gulmarg, the official said, recorded a low of minus 3.1°C against minus 2.8°C on the previous night and the temperature was 4.6°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir.

Jammu, he said, recorded a minimum of 2.3°C against 2.5°C on previous night, and it was below normal by 4.8°C for the winter capital of J&K.

Banihal recorded a low of minus 0.6°C, Batote 3.0°C and Bhaderwah 0.4°C, he said.
Kashmir valley is under ‘Chillai-Kalan’, the 40-day harsh period of winter, which will end on January 29. However it does not mean an end to the winter. It is followed by a 20-day-long period called ‘Chillai-Khurd’ that occurs between January 30 and February 19 and a 10-day-long period ‘Chillai-Bachha’ (baby cold) which is from February 20 to March 1.

Weatherman has ruled out significant weather activity till January 24 in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Dry weather is likely to continue till January 24 with feeble WDs approaching on 16th and 20th evening,” the MeT official said.

Under the influence of these WDs, he said, generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow over “isolated middle & higher reaches is expected during January 16th & 20th night.”
He said overall there is no significant weather activity expected till January 24.

At the same time, the official said that as per indications of different models, there is possibility of light rain and snow at “scattered” places from 25-27. “Will update in coming days more clearly,” he said. (GNS)

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) issued a fresh notification and sought application for GDMO/Medical Specialist for its hospitals at projects/Stations.

The online application which commenced on January 10 will continue till January 24. The applicants should not be more than 37 years. However, there will be relaxation for the deserving candidates.

JKBOSE 10th, 11th & 12th Revaluation Forms Online – Deadline Closing Today

Srinagar Dec 31 (KSA); The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has recently issued a notification outlining the process for eligible candidates to obtain photo-stat copies of their answer scripts and apply for re-evaluation for Secondary School Examination (Class 10th), Higher Secondary Part-1 (Class 11th), and Higher Secondary Part-II (Class 12th) for the Annual(Bi-annual) 2023 Session.

Online Application Process:

Starting from January 2, 2024, candidates can submit their applications through the JKBOSE official website (www.jkbose.nic.in). The last date for applying for a photo copy of answer scripts is January 11, 2024, with the last schedule for collecting copies scheduled for January 13, 2024. For re-evaluation, the deadline is January 16, 2024.

JKBOSE 10th Syllabus 2024

Applicants are required to deposit the prescribed fees through online modes such as Credit/Debit Cards, Net Banking, etc. The fee for re-evaluation is Rs.495 per answer script, while obtaining a photo-stat copy costs Rs.255 per answer script.

Eligibility for Re-evaluation:

As per standing regulations, only candidates securing 20% or more marks in the concerned subject are eligible to apply for re-evaluation.

Collection of Copies:

Candidates need to strictly adhere to the schedule for collecting their photo-stat copies from the specified Secrecy Sections of JKBOSE Head Office at BOSE Campus Bemina, Srinagar, and Rehari Colony, Jammu. Proof of fee deposition must be presented during collection.

Important Instructions:

– Students are advised to regularly check the JKBOSE website for updates regarding the schedule for obtaining photo-stat copies after applying.

– Notice for collection of copies will be uploaded on the BOSE website in phases, and students must follow the schedule.

– In case a roll number is missing in the last uploaded schedule, candidates must report it the following day along with the receipt proof via email.

Ineligibility Criteria:

Candidates with disqualifications and canceled exams/papers are not eligible to apply for photo-stat copies or re-evaluation forms for the respective subjects.

Sgr-Jmu highway to remain closed for 6 hours on 2 consecutive days

Jammu, Jan 15 (KNO): The traffic movement on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway will remain closed for six hours on two consecutive days to facilitate essential construction work.

An official order, a copy lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads, “Based on the recommendation of Project Director, NHAI, PIU Ramban, vide above- quoted reference and in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the general populace/travelers/drivers, sanction is hereby granted in favour of NHAI, PIU Ramban, for taking six-hour traffic haltage from 0000 hours to 0600 hours on 16.01.2024 to 17.01.2024 (intervening night) and traffic haltage from 0000 hours to 0600 hours on 17.01.2024 to 18.01.2024 (intervening night), for launching the girders at MNB 19 & installation of ventilation/ jet fans in Tunnel T5, in strict adherence to the conditions outlined in the aforementioned communication from the Project Director NHAI, PIU Ramban.”
