Department, held on 22-10-2023-Provisional Answer Key regarding. The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) conducted the Written

Examination for the post of Field Inspector, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, UT Cadre, advertised vide Advertisement Notification No. 03 of 2021, under Item No. 560, on 22nd October, 2023.

The Provisional Answer Key of the question paper (Series A, B, C, D) for the above said examination is provided at Annexure “A” to this notice for the information of the candidates.

Any candidate having objection(s) to the answer key, may submit his/her objection(s)/representation(s) in respect of such question(s) on prescribed format/proforma annexed herewith as Annexure “B” along with the documentary proof/evidence substantiating the claim (hard copies only) and a fee of Rs. 200/- (in the form of demand draft) per question (refundable in case of genuine/correct representation/objection) in favour of the Accounts Officer, J&K Services Selection Board.

In case, the objection is found correct, the Answer Key will be revised accordingly in respect of all candidates. No candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her objection individually.

The objections/representations can be submitted in offline mode only, in the office of J&K Services Selection Board, CPO Chowk, Panjtirthi, Jammu/ J&K Services Selection Board, Zamzam Building, Rambagh, Srinagar on three working days starting from 25-10-2023, during office hours only.

The Board shall not entertain any such representations/objections after the expiry of the stipulated period or any other mode.

NPS vs OPS: Recently, the Central Government has increased the dearness allowance of central employees by 4 percent. Now dearness allowance of central employees has increased from 42 percent to 46 percent. After this increase, now the government is going to make important changes in the pension scheme of the employees.

National Pension Scheme: For a long time, government employees have been demanding the Central Government to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). Now a big update has come regarding this. The central government may make changes in the National Pension Scheme (NPS) by the end of this year. After this amendment, it can be ensured that after retirement, employees can get 40 to 45 percent of their salary in the form of pension in their last days. A recommendation has been made by a high level panel in this regard.

Government will take decision soon

According to media reports, two people associated with this whole matter said that a new plan is being considered by the government. There has been no official statement from the government on this. But in view of the Lok Sabha elections, a decision on this can be taken soon by the Central Government. At present the issue of old pension is completely dominant. Recently, the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has been implemented by many non-BJP ruled state governments.

Old pension scheme reinstated in these states

Under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), there is a provision to give 50 percent of the last salary to the employees as pension. The old pension scheme has been restored in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. Expressing their views on this, different economists had said that this can lead the state governments towards bankruptcy. SBI Chief Economic Advisor Soumya Kant Ghosh had said that the old pension scheme is financially unsustainable. This may increase the debt burden on the states.

NPS was launched in 2004.

Let us tell you that the currently implemented market linked pension plan was launched in the year 2004. In this, employees are required to contribute 10% of the basic salary and the government is required to contribute 14%. Whereas the employee does not make any contribution in the old pension (OPS). Sources claim that now the Central Government can give higher returns to the retiring employees by making some changes in the calculations. After this, changes in the contribution of the employee and the employer are also possible.

Under NPS, an employee can withdraw 60 percent of the total corpus at the time of retirement, which is tax free. After the news of changes in NPS, it is expected that the government is not in favor of restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) at any cost. Recently, while talking to Reuters, an official of the Finance Ministry had refused to implement the old pension scheme.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

1. From 20-10-2023, 1700 hrs. to 21-10-2023, 1700 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to breakdown of 06 HMVs, 05 nomadic herds and single lane traffic at Dalwas and Cafeteria-Mehad between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

*2. In view of poor surface condition and sinking of road, NHAI has been directed by the Government vide PW (R&B) Department’s order no. PWD-Plg/14/2021-05 dated 20-10-2023 to undertake repair and restoration work of NH-44 at Dalwas, as a result traffic will remain suspended between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel tomorrow on 22-10-2023 (Sunday).*

3. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 22-10-2023:-*

*JAMMU-SRINAGAR NATIONAL HIGHWAY (NH-44);-*

No vehicular movement shall be allowed on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) from Nashri towards NAVYUG Tunnel and vice versa in view of urgent repair work at Dalwas Ramban. People are advised to avoid journey on Jammu Srinagar NHW tomorrow on 22-10-2023 and plan their journey accordingly. However, Mughal Road is open for vehicular movement

 

*SSG ROAD*

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road shall be allowed from both sides viz Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 0730 hrs. to 1100 hrs. Similarly, LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timings.

*SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil, shall leave Srinagar at 0800 hrs. SFs Convoy plying from Drass to Srinagar shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic doesn’t get disturbed.*

 

*Mughal Road:-*

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, vehicular movement on Mughal road shall be allowed from both sides viz. Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa. These vehicles shall be allowed from Behramgalla (Buffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian) between 0600 hrs. to 1800 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut of timings

Dr. Farooq Abdullah emphasizes on moral education in schools

Attends annual cultural day function of Presentation Convent School in Sgr

Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNO): National Conference President and Member of the Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday emphasised on the importance of moral education in the overall wellbeing of the children.

He said this at the annual cultural day function of the Presentation Convent School in Srinagar. “Moral education is the need of the hour. The world today is filled with crime, hatred, and greed, the situation in Kashmir is no different. People have forgotten their humanity and are only concerned with themselves. Voices of all hues have seen a manifold increase in our valley which had a distinction of being the abode of great sages and sufis,” he said as per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

“Our contemporary youth have lost their sense of right and wrong. With all the negativity that surrounds us through the internet and other forums, it is more important than ever to instil positive values in our children. During these contemporary times values often seem to take a backseat, however that shouldn’t happen. Our schools should lay more emphasis on teaching children the virtues of integrity, morality, truthfulness,” he said.

He also passed on best wishes to the school administration, hoping that they will keep on contributing to society more effectively as ever before—(KNO)
