Hajj 2025: HCoI Extends Online Application Deadline to September 30

Hajj 2025: HCoI extends deadline for submission of online applications to Sep 30

Srinagar, Sep 23 (KNO): The Haj Committee of India (HCoI) has announced to extend the last date for submission of online application forms for Hajj-2025 till 30 September 2024.

In a circular issued by the HCoI, a copy of which also lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reads that applicants possessing machine readable valid Indian International Passports issued on or before 30/09/2024 and valid upto 15/01/2026, 2026 are eligible to apply for Hajj – 2025.

“Considering popular demand, the Competent Authority in the Ministry of Minority Affairs is pleased to extend the last date of submission of Haj Application Forms (HAF) to 30.09.24 11:59 Hrs”, states the circular.

The circular reads that eligible applicants, in possession of machine readable Indian International Passport issued on or before 30.09.2024 and valid up to 15.01.2026 may submit their applications online on the website of Haj Committee of India https:// hajcommittee.gov.in or through the iPhone/Android Mobile App “Haj Suvidha.

“Applicants are advised to read the Haj guidelines 2025 carefully before submitting their Haj applications forms,” circular added.

Earlier this month, a similar circular was issued by HCoI, informing that dates were extended upto 23 September 2024.

Notably, in the year 2024, a total of 7008 pilgrims from J&K embarked on the holy journey.

The journey, however, was marred over by tragedy, as 11 pilgrims from the region as per the officials succumbed to ‘heat stroke’ during the holy pilgrimage.

Notably, HCoI this year also released the Hajj 2025 guidelines draft, and with an early stage modification too in the policy by extending the age limit of a companion from a age bracket of 60 to 65.

According to the circular, in partial modification in para 2 of the Haj Guidelines for Haj 2025, a person in the age bracket of 60 to 65, is allowed to apply for Haj 2025 as Companion, subject to such companion being a spouse/sibling/child of the pilgrim aged 65 or above.

The circular, however stated that all other companions must be in the age group of 18 to 60 years, on the date specified by HCoI.

Notably, according to the Hajj 2025 policy before the amendment, the policy stated that the age of the “Mehram” and companions accompanying pilgrims aged 65 years or above must be 18 to 60 years as on the date specified by HCol.

However, in the case of “Mehram” for lady pilgrims and companions of the pilgrims aged 65 years or above, including Ladies Without Mehram (LWM) pilgrims aged 65 years or above, the policy states that repeaters will be allowed on payment of additional charges as applicable from time to time.

The policy also outlines that companions accompanying LWM pilgrims aged 65 or above must be female and between the age of 45 to 60 years

The policy maintains the distribution of Haj seats, with 70% allocated to the Haj Committee of India (HCoI) and 30% to Haj Group Organisers (HGOs)—(KNO)

The Indian government has established 60 new medical colleges in the past year in a major healthcare education expansion, representing an impressive 8.07% increase.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda highlighted these developments as part of the Ministry of Health’s achievements within the first 100 days of the new government.

“We’ve seen a remarkable rise in the number of medical colleges, growing from 387 in 2013-14 to 766 in 2024-25,” stated Nadda.

This increase comes with a notable blend of government and private medical institutions, with 423 government-run colleges and 343 private medical colleges now in operation.

GROWING MEDICAL SEATS

Alongside the increase in medical colleges, the number of MBBS seats has also seen a surge. MBBS seats grew by 6.30%, from 1,08,940 in the 2023-24 academic year to 1,15,812 in 2024-25.

Over the last decade, MBBS seats have increased by an impressive 125%, growing by 64,464 from 2013-14 to the present.

Postgraduate medical seats have similarly expanded. The number of PG seats rose by 5.92% this year, reaching 73,111 compared to 69,024 last year.

In the last ten years, PG seats have more than doubled, jumping from 31,185 in 2013-14 to the current 73,111, which marks a 127% increase.

AIIMS DARBHANGA LAND ISSUE RESOLVED

In addition to these achievements, Nadda shared an important update regarding AIIMS Darbhanga.

The Bihar government handed over 150.13 acres of land on August 12, 2024, resolving a long-standing land dispute.

The new AIIMS, first approved in 2020 with a budget of Rs 1,264 crore, is expected to enhance affordable tertiary healthcare services in the region.

Ensuring transparency in Assembly Elections

J&K Election Office suspends 21 govt employees, disengages 5 adhoc, casual labourers

Jammu, Sep 23: The Chief Electoral Office has initiated action against 21 government employees, adhoc and casual labourers after they were found to have taken part in election campaigning with a view to ensure transparency in ongoing Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Acting swiftly on detailed ground inquiry reports, 21 employees found involved in political campaigning have been placed under suspension while 5 adhoc employees including casual labourers and others against whom the charges of involvement in Political campaigning were proved have been disengaged”, informed J&K Chief Electoral Officer.

Meanwhile, 20 employees have been shifted out of the offices where they were posted and attached with other offices to ensure that they do not indulge in such behaviour which raises suspicion of their involvement in campaigning or favouring any particular party/candidate.

The CEO further informed that notices have been issued to 15 employees against whom the complaints of involvement in campaigning have been received and their cases are under investigation. Besides, about 51 complaints have been closed as the detailed inquiry proved that that they were not involved in political campaigning.

Two Government Employees Disengaged for Participation in Political Activities

Budgam, 22 Sept: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has disengaged two casual labourers from the Jal Shakti Department for their involvement in political activities during the ongoing Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024.

“Shri Sadiq Lone, S/o Ghulam Mohammad Lone, R/o Kachwari Budgam, and Shri Mohammad Ashraf Shah, S/o Ghulam Hassan, R/o Khansahib, both working as Need Base Casual Labourers (NBCL) in the PHE Sub Division Khansahib, PHE Division Budgam, engaged in political activities during the ongoing Assembly Elections 2024, in violation of the Model Code of Conduct as well as the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971. The Competent Authority has decided to disengage their services forthwith, and hence, they are, accordingly, disengaged, with immediate effect.” The order reads.

The disengagement order was issued under Government Order No. 210-JK (JSD) of 2024, dated September 21, 2024. The action was taken in response to a report submitted by the Home Department, highlighting violations of the Model Code of Conduct and the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971.(News Eye)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the UGC NET Result 2024 and the Final Answer Key on its official website soon. The provisional answer keys for the UGC NET exams conducted from August 27 to September 4, 2024, have already been released.

Earlier, provisional answer keys for the exams held on August 21, 22, and 23, 2024, were also made available.

UGC NET Result 2024: HOW TO CHECK SCORECARDS

Step 1: Go to the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link labelled ‘UGC NET Result 2024’.
Step 3: A new page will open.
Step 4: Enter the required credentials and click on submit.
Step 5: Your result will be displayed on the screen.

The NTA has released the provisional answer keys for the exams, allowing candidates to challenge them. Each challenge required a payment of Rs 200.
