Temp plummets again after two-day rise

Srinagar, Jul 10 (KNO): As Jammu and Kashmir continues to witness a respite from heat wave; the weatherman here has again predicted the possibility of floods amidst the forecast of moderate rainfall till 17th July.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the temperature has once again plummeted in Srinagar and elsewhere today with Srinagar recording a maximum temperature of 29.8 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature across Kashmir settled below 30 degree Celsius after witnessing a rise for the two straight days with Qazigund, a gateway of Kashmir, recorded 28.4 degree Celsius while Kupwara recorded a maximum temperature of 29.8 degree Celsius.

Kokernag has recorded a maximum temperature of 28.5 degree Celsius while the mercury settled at 25.7 degree Celsius in Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination.

The Jammu City has however recorded 33.3 degree Celsius while Banihal recorded a temperature of 29.0 degree Celsius.

Batote and Katra recorded a maximum temperature of 28.1 degree Celsius and 29.1 degree Celsius respectively.

However, the weatherman has predicted the possibility of flash floods again, saying that the light to moderate rainfall is expected in the next few days.

Director Meteorological department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that there is a possibility of a spell of rain and thundershower at many places of Jammu division and scattered places of Kashmir division tomorrow.

However, he said that from July 12 to July 13, a spell of light to moderate rain and thundershower is expected at scattered to fairly widespread places with heavy rain at isolated places of Jammu division on 12th July.

Furthermore, he added that on July 14 & 15, a brief spell of rain and thundershower is expected at scattered places while on July 16 & 17, a brief spell of rain and thundershower is expected at isolated places.

In its advisory, the MeT however, has said that flash floods, landslides, mudslides & shooting stones are expected at few vulnerable places during July 11 to July 13.

It added that a few low lying areas may experience temporary water logging conditions in Jammu division—(KNO)

JKBOSE 11th Result 2024: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is set to release the JKBOSE 11th Result 2024 in the 2nd week of July 2024, following the completion of the answer sheets revaluation process. Over 80,000 students from Class 11 in JK’s hard and soft zone areas are eagerly awaiting their Part 1 annual exam results. The JK Board 11th result 2024 gazette will be accessible on the official website at jkbose.nic.in. Once the results are published, students can check their marks using their roll number and registration number and print their online mark sheets. The Jammu and Kashmir Education Board conducted the Class 11th soft zone examination from March 6 to April 19, 2024. Most schools in Jammu Kashmir fall under the Soft zone division, while the hard zone division includes schools that are often inaccessible due to challenging connectivity, terrain, and snowfall conditions. The previous year’s pass percentage for the JKBOSE 11th class was 53%, with 73,471 out of 139,431 candidates passing the exam. Additionally, 33,845 students achieved first division.

Finally, students who believe that their marks can be improved have the opportunity to apply for the JKBOSE 11th result re-evaluation 2024. The re-evaluation process will commence soon after the results are announced, and candidates must pa‘y Rs 495 per subject for rechecking. LG Electronics India Launches ‘LIFE’S GOOD’ Scholarship Program 2024 to Support Meritorious Students

LG Electronics India Private Limited has announced the launch of the ‘LIFE’S GOOD’ Scholarship Program 2024, a CSR initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds. This scholarship program will offer financial aid to students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate courses at select institutes and colleges across India for one year, helping them advance their educational journey.

Program Details

The ‘LIFE’S GOOD’ Scholarship Program 2024 aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5, emphasizing quality education and gender equality. In line with Schedule VII of the Companies Act 2013, the program gives preference to eligible female students, promoting their empowerment through inclusive learning.

Eligibility Criteria

– Students must be pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate courses (any academic year) from select colleges/institutes across India.
– First-year students must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in their class 12th examinations.
– Students in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years must have achieved a minimum of 60% marks in the previous academic year.
– Children of employees of Buddy4Study and LG Electronics India Private Limited are not eligible to participate in the scholarship.

Preference will be given to meritorious students, female students, and those with an annual family income of not more than INR 8 lakh. Applications for this program will be accepted in four phases. Details for Phases 2, 3, and 4 will be announced soon.

– Undergraduate students: 50% of tuition fees or up to INR 1 lakh (whichever is lesser)
– Postgraduate students: 50% of tuition fees or up to INR 2 lakh (whichever is lesser)
– For meritorious candidates with zero tuition fees and a family income of less than INR 8 lakhs:

– PG students: INR 1 lakh
