Placement of 438 Masters in Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department

Srinagar 6 Jan (KSA): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s School Education Department has recently issued Government Order No. 09-JK(Edu) of 2024 on January 5, 2024. This order pertains to the placement of 438 Masters as In-charge Headmasters and their equivalents within the School Education Department. The placement is effective immediately and is valid for a period of six months or until the posts are filled on an officiating/regular basis by JKPSC/DPC, whichever occurs earlier.

The decision for placement has been made in the interest of administration and considering administrative and academic exigencies. However, the placement comes with specific conditions outlined in the order.

Key Conditions of Placement:

1. No Preferential Claim: The placement does not confer any preferential claim or right to the officials for seeking regularization or confirmation. These processes will be considered strictly as per established procedures and subject to clearance by JKPSC/DPC.

2. Legal Implications: The placement is subject to the outcome of any writ petition(s) pending before the Court(s) of law. This implies that the decision may be affected by the results of any ongoing legal proceedings.

3. Joining Obligation: Officers are required to join their new place of posting within seven days. Failure to do so within the stipulated time will be interpreted as a forfeiture of the Placement/Promotion. In such cases, the placement will be canceled ab-initio, and actions as per established rules will follow.

4. Academic Credentials Verification: CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) are entrusted with the responsibility to verify the genuineness of the requisite academic credentials. It is imperative that the academic qualifications are valid and obtained from universities or institutions recognized by the UGC/AICTE.

5. Undertaking for Authenticity: Officers must submit an undertaking to the concerned CEO, acknowledging that if their service particulars or academic credentials are found to be fake, forged, tampered, issued by an unrecognized university, or the course is proven unrecognized at any stage, they will have no claim on the placement. In such cases, the placement will be canceled ab-initio without any further notice.

Moreover, the order specifies that these officers, in addition to administrative powers, will also exercise Drawing and Disbursing Powers.

The interviews will be held from 10th to 12th January 2024 at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Main Campus, SKUAST-K, Shalimar.

The notice specifies the interview dates for candidates shortlisted for 7 disciplines including Agricultural Statistics, Plant Physiology, Microbiology, Entomology, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Srinagar, Jan 6(KSA) The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has recently released the model question papers for Class 8th students. These papers serve as a valuable resource for students to understand the exam pattern and prepare efficiently.

According to a statement by the JKBOSE, the model papers have been prepared by the State Council Of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) in alignment with the board’s latest syllabus and assessment scheme.

The model papers cover key subjects including English, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Urdu, Kashmiri, Hindi, and Punjabi. Each paper contains a similar format and level of difficulty expected in the final exams.

J-K Weather Update Light rain/snow Predicted, know here

Srinagar, Jan 6: Freezing weather conditions show no signs of reprieve in Kashmir Valley as minimum temperature in Srinagar plummeted to minus 5.4°C on Saturday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that the temperature dropped by 1.6°C compared to last night and it was 3.5°C below normal for the summer capital of J&K for this time of the year.

He said the minimum temperature of minus 5.4°C equaled that of December 13 this year which was the coldest night so far this season in the city.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of minus 4.6°C against minus 3.0°C on the previous night, he said. The minimum temperature was 1.5°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, the MeT official said.

Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 6.3°C against minus 4.5°C on the previous night and it was 0.7°C above normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir.

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of minus 2.9°C against minus 2.0°C on the previous night and the temperature was above normal by 1.1°C for the place, the official said.

Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.4°C against minus 2.6°C on the previous night and it was 2.7°C below normal there, the official said.

Gulmarg, the official said, recorded a low of minus 4.5°C against minus 3.5°C on the previous night and the temperature was 3.3°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir.

Jammu, he said, recorded a minimum of 4.1°C against 5.1°C on previous night, and it was below normal by 2.2°C and the coldest night this season for the winter capital of J&K.

Banihal recorded a low of minus 1.6°C, Batote 2.3°C and Bhaderwah minus 0.3°C, he said.

Kashmir valley is under ‘Chillai-Kalan’, the 40-day harsh period of winter, which will end on January 30. However it does not mean an end to the winter. It is followed by a 20-day-long period called ‘Chillai-Khurd’ that occurs between January 30 and February 19 and a 10-day-long period ‘Chillai-Bachha’ (baby cold) which is from February 20 to March 1.

The weatherman said that in next 24 hours, mainly dry weather is expected.

Generally cloudy weather is expected with possibility of light rain/snow over isolated higher reaches on January 8, he said. From January 9-10, he said, generally dry weather is expected. (GNS)

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 4 (KSA): The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued a notice regarding the submission of preferences for the post of Panchayat Secretary. The JKSSB has called for document verification for candidates shortlisted under Notification No. 03 of 2022, item No. 59 to 77.

As per the notice, the preferences submitted by candidates at the time of online application will be considered final. Candidates called for document verification are not required to submit any additional offline preferences.

The JKSSB has intimated the shortlisted candidates that the order of preferences for item numbers 59 to 77 as submitted during online application will be treated as final. No change in the preferences will be permitted at the time of document verification.

The notice signed by JKSSB Controller of Examinations, Reyaz Ahmad Malik, directs candidates to visit jkssb.nic.in for more details. It asks candidates to strictly adhere to the preferences already submitted to avoid any confusion.

JKSSB Advance Notice Written Examination for Finance Accounts Assistant

Srinagar, 4th Jan (KSA): The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an advance notice regarding the written examination for the post of Accounts Assistant in the Finance Department.

As per the announcement, the OMR-based written test is scheduled to be conducted on 28th January 2024 across exam centers in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The admit cards for the same shall be available for download from the JKSSB website – www.jkssb.nic.in in due course of time.

Candidates who have applied for the Accounts Assistant position are advised to regularly check the official JKSSB website and their registered email IDs for updates regarding the admit card and examination.

GMC Anantnag gets accreditation for 11 more DNB seats

Anantnag, Jan 05 (KNO): The Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has made remarkable strides in postgraduate education, securing accreditation for an additional eleven 11 DNB seats from the National Board of Examinations (NBEMS) New Delhi for this session.

This elevates the total accredited seats to 63, an official statement said.

It said that Dr Anjum Farhana, Principal of GMC Anantnag, expressed appreciation for the pivotal roles played by various departments including Orthopedics (3 seats), Pathology (3 seats), Microbiology (3 seats), and Physiology (2 seats).

She emphasized the dual impact of these additions, enriching academic pursuits and enhancing the quality of patient care.

Dr Azia Manzoor, DNB Coordinator and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine, highlighted the significance of this accreditation as it marks the eighteenth department at GMC Anantnag recognized by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi.

He told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that GMC Anantnag stands as the sole medical college with the highest number of accredited DNB seats among new medical colleges.

“This accreditation underscores the institution’s unwavering dedication to delivering advanced education and training in diverse medical fields, reinforcing its role in nurturing skilled healthcare professionals,” he said.
